Back on track...

We're back on schedule. The survey is done, along with the easement letter and the wetlands determination. All we need to do is finalize the budget and turn our paperwork into the bank. We're about 30ish days away!

Our first delay...

We have to push our closing date back a month or two. Our property is landlocked and we need to have a lawyer write a letter to the owner's attorney for the easement rights. We put the survey on hold until we could work out that issue. The survey was done on Wed. and we hopefully it will be recorded with a tax map # by the end of the month. After that the bank needs a few weeks to look over all our paperwork, drawings, etc. Looks like closing will be the first of Dec.

Take a look...

Here is our floorplan - The Lakeview Cottage - Designed by Garrell and Associates. There is supposed to be a basement but since we're in "the lowcountry" we can't have one so where the stairs are now will be Dustin's office. We are also making the garage a little deeper.

Moving forward...

The survey is scheduled for next week. After that the county has 30 days to approve it. The architect is making the changes we want to the floor plan and the structural engineer is working on getting it to code for the area. The army corps of engineers should be coming out next week to do the wetland determination. So far still on schedule.

They're ordered...

We've ordered the plans. We close on the lot 9/15/10 and are accepting bids to subdivide our lot from the 8.8 and to turn the plat into the county. We are getting nervous, excited, and worried about building this home because every time we move forward something else comes up. We're handling it well so far :)

We found it...

We found the lot! After a few months of searching (and I mean searching!) we have found the perfect place to build the dream home! We found a guy that had 8.8 acres for sell and he agreed to split off 3 for us.
